My name is Jo.
I’ve really come to appreciate the power of stories and storytelling, which is in part driven by my life-long love of the written word and also the fact that stories bring meaning and life to the world. It’s exciting to know that stories can be a call to action, and a rallying point for change. It’s also exciting that everyone has a story, and everyone deserves a place to be heard.
I’ve worked as a writer and communicator in various sectors including technology, international trade, transportation, education, advanced education and social innovation. I’ve also had the opportunity to lead large-scale communications projects—both domestically in Canada and internationally.
My work includes professional research, writing and editing; stakeholder outreach and engagement; strategic communications and project management.
I have an undergraduate degree in English with additional studies in creative writing and a Master of Arts in Intercultural and International Communication.
